Day-in-the-Life: Cosmetics Batch Compounder

Join our production floor as a Compounder I and help turn precise formulas into high‑quality cosmetic products. You’ll work closely with Quality Assurance and production teammates to prepare, mix, document, and release batches that meet strict GMP expectations for safety and consistency.

What Your Day Looks Like

1. Start by preparing the workspace: clean and sanitize batch vessels from the previous run, then set up for the next production lot.
2. Review pre‑weighed raw materials to confirm accuracy and readiness before batching begins.
3. Build each batch to spec, following CMS processing standards and approved operating instructions.
4. Capture every step: complete all batch records and associated documentation in real time.
5. Partner with QA for vessel inspections, batch completion checks, and final product release.
6. Select and use appropriate PPE for the materials and processes at hand.
7. Transfer finished batches to the proper containers; label clearly with contents and release status.
8. Keep the area audit‑ready: maintain a clean, organized, and compliant environment.
9. Dispose of waste according to company procedures and environmental guidelines.
10. Handle general housekeeping and keep Cleaning & Sanitization (C&S) records current.
11. Pitch in with additional production tasks as workflow requires.

What You Bring

• Hands‑on experience as a compounder or in cosmetics/personal care manufacturing (preferred).
• Ability to lift containers and safely move drums; experience using a pallet jack.
• Comfort reading and following detailed equipment and batching instructions.
• Solid shop math for measurements, conversions, and yield calculations.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Training & Compliance You’ll Use

• CMS data entry and review of packaging yield reports.
• Basic GMP training for regulated production environments.
• Basic safety training, including proper PPE selection and use.

Proficiency

Compounding and shop math skills are essential to succeed in this role.
