Inspector

Armand Corporation
New Jersey

This position is responsible for monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable codes throughout all phases of construction.

The successful candidate will perform field inspections, witness testing activities, document inspection results, identify non-conforming work, and coordinate with contractors, project teams, and client representatives to support quality assurance and project delivery. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a landmark infrastructure project while working alongside experienced construction management professionals in a collaborative and safety-focused environment.

Candidates selected to move forward in the hiring process will be required to provide digital copies of all applicable U.S.-based licenses, certifications, and academic degree(s) prior to the interview. • Prepare and submit detailed reports of all inspections and testing conducted, including findings, observations, and any non-conformances identified.
  • Coordinate with the Special Inspection Testing Agency and Project Contractors to schedule and facilitate inspections and testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, test results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Identify and report any issues of non-compliance or safety concerns to the Quality Manager and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Participate in regular field meetings and collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues and support project delivery.
  • Ensure that all inspection activities are conducted in accordance with the Hudson Tunnel Project Quality Management Plan and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support the implementation of quality control and quality acceptance programs as required by the project.
  • Assist in periodic audits to ensure compliance with project requirements and federal regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction inspection, preferably on large infrastructure or transportation projects.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO, ASTM, local building codes).
  • Experience with quality assurance/quality control procedures and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using inspection and reporting software/tools.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification preferred.
  • Ability to work in field conditions, including active construction sites and tunnels.
