Donor Services and Database Manager
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Operations and Finance Manager, and in conformity with policies and procedures, the Donor Services and Database Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations and deliverables associated with SSS donations processing, including primary utilization of a Raiser’s Edge data management system, along with support of general donor administration and other activities as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Solely responsible for the accurate and timely entry of all contributions, pledges, and in-kind donations.
- Establish and maintain consistent and accurate coding and acknowledgment of donations, appeals, and giving methods.
- Work with staff to ensure timely and accurate donation acknowledgment.
- Create and maintain giving forms, event registration forms, and volunteer forms.
- Maintain the integrity of the database; make case-by case updates and identify global changes to maintain accuracy, cleanliness, and consistency.
- Establish processes according to best practices; conduct Raiser’s Edge training for staff to ensure effective utilization.
- Frequently produce standard giving reports, donor and giving analytics, customized queries, data pulls, mailing lists and reports for management and communications activities.
- Develop and implement standardized procedures for utilization of Raiser’s Edge.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure proper allocation and reconciliation of all funds in both Raiser’s Edge and Quick Books databases.
- Ensure accuracy of tracking systems.
- Work with consultants to support data management efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Significant experience utilizing and managing a database; preferably Raiser’s Edge.
- Strong computer skills in typing, data entry, Microsoft Office, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ability to complete detailed assignments in a timely and thorough manner.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments.
- Ability to establish and maintain tracking systems, and to develop and implement departmental procedures.
- Absolute discretion regarding confidential donor information.
