Job Title : Optical Assembly Technician

Location : Pine Brook, New Jersey



Type : Contract To Hire

Compensation : $25/Hr

Contractor Work Model : Onsite

Hours : Monday through Friday (3PM to 11PM)

* Training will be on 1st Shift - Monday through Friday (9am to 530pm) for one month

OPTICAL ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN

Responsibilities

• Assemble and manufacture fiber-optic components such as combiners, couplers, and multicore fiber fanouts

• Prepare, strip, cleave, and splice optical fibers for precision assemblies

• Read and follow schematics, drawings, and written work instructions

• Perform optical testing using light sources, detectors, and measurement equipment

• Record process data and inspection results using basic computer systems

• Collaborate with team members to maintain quality, efficiency, and safety standards

• Support R&D, testing, and prototyping activities as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong interest in starting a career in fiber-optic or high-tech manufacturing

• Patience and focus—comfortable performing detailed precision work

• Adaptability—able to adjust to changing processes or priorities

• Excellent attention to detail and quality awareness

• Team-oriented mindset; comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas

• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for working with small, delicate components

• Understanding of precision measurement concepts, tolerances, and unit conversions (µm, mm, cm, km, inches)

• Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry
