Job Title: Export Documentation Specialist
Location: Lakewood, New Jersey

Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000 annually
Contractor Work Model: Onsite (Lakewood Industrial Park)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Export Documentation Specialist Responsibilities:
Documentation Management

• Generates and processes customized, international shipping paperwork, including Bills of Lading (BOL), Commercial Invoices, Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI), and Certificates of Conformity. Primarily ships to Germany, South Korea, China, Philippines, Canada

Compliance & Oversight

• Ensures all shipments comply with country specific international shipping regulations and Customs’ requirements to avoid delays or penalties..Incoterms, customs documentation, and international trade compliance

Carrier & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinates and communicates with our approved freight forwarders and international carriers (such as FedEx, UPS, or DHL) to schedule pickups, arrange transportation, and ensure rates are cost-effective and within budget.

Logistics Tracking

• Tracks shipments and proactively resolves delays, discrepancies, or damages. Provides realistic updates to internal stakeholders and customers.

Inventory & Quality Control

• Verifying shipment contents against manifests or purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and updating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Dispute Resolution

• Handles and resolves discrepancies, claims for damaged goods, or issues with customs clearance.

Export Documentation Specialist Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Post high school schooling is desirable
• At least one (1) year working in international shipping
• Must possess strong attention to detail and organizational skill and maintain the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Additional language skills are a plus
