Job Title: Assembler Job Description

This role involves assembling a variety of products, ranging from electrical cords to mobile generator systems, using point-to-point wiring and basic hand tools. You will work on a production floor where accuracy, attention to detail, and a positive, flexible attitude are essential to delivering high-quality electrical assemblies.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble electrical products, including electrical cords and mobile generator systems, according to specifications and work instructions.
  • Perform point-to-point wiring to connect components accurately and safely.
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, tape measures, wire strippers, and utility knives to complete assembly tasks.
  • Strip wires cleanly and correctly to prepare them for connections and terminations.
  • Inspect assemblies for accuracy, quality, and completeness before moving them to the next production stage.
  • Follow all production procedures and guidelines to maintain consistency and quality in the assembly process.
  • Report to the assembly supervisor for daily direction, feedback, and performance expectations.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and tasks as needed to support production demands.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of assemblies.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience with point-to-point wiring in an assembly or similar environment.
  • Ability to strip wires safely and accurately using appropriate tools.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools, including screwdrivers, tape measures, wire strippers, and utility knives.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate wiring and assembly of components.
  • Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance.
  • Flexible and positive personality, with a willingness to adapt to different tasks and priorities.
  • Willingness to learn new processes, tools, and product types as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in electrical assembly, production, or manufacturing environments is beneficial.
  • Comfort working with electrical components and wiring in a structured production setting.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to learning and improving skills.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production environment on a first shift schedule, typically running from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work on a manufacturing floor handling electrical components and assemblies, using hand tools such as screwdrivers, tape measures, wire strippers, and utility knives. The role requires standing for extended periods, working with your hands, and maintaining an organized and safe workspace. The environment emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and adherence to established procedures to ensure consistent quality and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.70/hr.
