About the Role
The Lead Carpet Installer is responsible for overseeing the installation or carpet throughout the property.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to installation team including ongoing training for new team members
- Responsible for enforcing safety standards and equipment for all on jobsite, ensuring first time completion
- Sweep, scrape, sand, or clean base surfaces to correct imperfections that may show through the floor covering
- Mix and apply required compounds to join and adhere foundation/flooring material
- Tearing out old flooring and padding
- Stretching in carpet
- Cut floor coverings and foundation materials according to blueprints and sketches
- Capable of performing a variety of calculations related to surface area, cubic volume and estimating material quantities
- Determines traffic areas and best location(s) for seams if not previously specified in paperwork
- Use and maintain hand tools, portable power tools, and stationary power tools in a safe manner
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and hectic environments.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend and twist for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the casino/hotel areas
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends and flexible shift hours
Requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (Read, Write, Speak & Understand).
- 5+ years of flooring installation
