Program Overview

About The Role

This position will support the design, development, testing and operational phases of projects undertaken at PERATON Labs, the research and development arm of PERATON corporation. This position requires the successful candidate to work closely with a diverse team of engineering, scientific and technical staff to develop novel solutions in support of such projects.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work semi-independently in a small multi-disciplinary team utilizing their experience to analyze, design and impl e ment software systems . Additionally, developing software for embedded devices and modules to power, generate, and receive signals for prototypes and field-deployable systems is a critical component of this job.  The ability to read, comprehend and generate professional quality design documentation as well as code is a required capability for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Design, develop, and test of Software for prototype and production systems

• Provid e h ands-on work to test software, document , track and fix bugs

• Develop and review design document packages that including Use Cases, Data Flow Diagrams, State Machine Diagrams, Sequence Diagr a ms and T est P lans

• Develop embedded computing applications that include digital signal processing , critical system functions, internal fault handling, communications and hardware control

• Provid e expertise in software improvement analysis and refactoring as needed

• Work within an Integrated Digitial Engineering Environment t hat digitally threads , or links, models, requirements, simulation s and test data

Qualifications

Required Education and Work Experience:

The successful candidate has diversified knowledge of principles and practices in engineering.

A degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering is required with at least the following experience levels:

• BS with 2 or more years of experience

• MS with 1 or more years of experience

(Experience must be with relevant work in a professional setting)

Required Skills/Attributes:

• Experience with software d esign, evaluation

• Experience creating software to implement functional tests to meet system r equirements and specs

• Familiarity with compilers and code profiling

• Experience with software version control tools such as GIT

• Ability to communicate designs through presentations and supporting design material

• Experience participating-in and having designs reviewed in a formal setting

• Skilled with C, C++ , Python and debugging tools like GDB

• Proficient in writing and reviewing technical documentation in MS word , Excel and PowerPoint

• Ability to be onsite five days a week when required

• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance

• U.S. Citizenship

Desired Skills/Attributes:

• Experience with electrical or computer engineering

• Experience with automating data collection and analysis using Python, and MATLAB + Simulink

• Experience with in-depth analysis of software and signals for reverse engineering

• Experience wit h Dev Sec Ops environments and specifically with configuration management tools like Ansible

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
