We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Control Clerk to join our shipping and receiving department.
Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Clerk - Shipping & Receiving plays a vital role in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving processes. This position will involve tracking inventory levels, managing stock movement, and coordinating with various departments to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management : Maintain accurate inventory records, perform regular cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Shipping & Receiving: Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, including verifying shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, and ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter inventory transactions into the inventory management system, including adjustments, transfers, and order fulfillment.
- Quality Control: Inspect received items for quality and quantity, and report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.
- Deliveries: Safely operate company vehicle to deliver part to local vendors.
- Organization: Maintain a clean and organized storage area, ensuring inventory is stored in designated locations for easy access and retrieval.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including purchasing, production, and warehousing, to ensure smooth communication and coordination regarding inventory levels and product availability.
- Reporting: Assist in generating inventory reports and analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your coworkers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in inventory control, shipping and receiving, or a related role.
- Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
This position may require standing for extended periods, lifting objects weighing up to 60 lbs, and working in a warehouse environment.
