Job Overview

Wellington Estates, an upscale Assisted Living Facility located in Spring Lake, New Jersey (Wall Township area) is seeking the right individual wanting to join our team as a Full-time Chef (Cook) for the Evening Shift (11:30am-7:30pm). The ideal candidate will have expertise in various culinary environments such as catering, dietary departments, food management, and leadership roles within the food industry.

Responsibilities

• Preparing food daily as outlined on weekly menu plan

• Altering or adapting recipes to accommodate special dietary needs of residents or improve recipes.

• Preparing meats for storage and portion control upon deliver and ensure proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients.

• Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe kitchen environment.

• Ensuring proper handling, labeling, and storage of food for infection control.

• Ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Coordinating and participating in serving food.

• Monitoring portion control to meet residents' requests and minimize waste.

• Successful completion of all ongoing education requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a culinary role, preferably in a restaurant or food service management setting

• Excellent leadership skills to guide and motivate kitchen staff effectively

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Shift

• The regular weekly rotation for this Full-time position, is working the 11:30am-7:30pm shift every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, (off on Thursday), Friday and every other weekend.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $22.00-$25.00 (based on experience)
