Commercial HVACR Field Service Specialist

Step into a day with MPA

You start at our single New Jersey office, pick up dispatch, and roll out in a company truck—gas card in the glove box—toward client sites across Northern and Central Jersey. Through the day, you independently respond to calls from commercial, public, and industrial customers, drawing on deep hands-on experience to diagnose and repair systems that keep buildings productive and safe.

Your toolkit is broad: air handlers, cooling towers, commercial forced-air heating and AC, and boilers. Electrical troubleshooting is second nature, and your clear communication—written and spoken—keeps customers informed and confident.

Mechanical Preservation Associates, Inc. (MPA) is a New Jersey based, full service Mechanical Contractor specializing in commercial Mechanical, HVAC, BMS Controls and Process systems. What you’ll take on

• Independently respond to and resolve service calls for commercial, public, and industrial clients.
• Troubleshoot and service air handlers, cooling towers, and commercial forced-air heating & AC systems.
• Service and maintain boilers and related heating systems.
• Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs tied to HVAC equipment.
• Document findings, communicate recommendations, and deliver excellent customer service.

What you bring

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service and repair experience.
• Proven electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Compensation & benefits

Job Type: Full-time | Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday–Friday

Pay: $70,000 – $100,000 per year (hourly). Private work rate based on experience; New Jersey prevailing wage determinations for public work. Performance bonuses available.
