Universal Member Service Representative
Summary
Serve as a liaison between our membership and the credit union. Provide member service by phone or in person, as well as information on the full range of credit union products and services. Open accounts for members, professionally handle member’s daily inquiries/needs, maintain accurate transactional records and cash handling. Provide a variety of transaction services to members including loan processing, closing, and disbursal.
Responsibilities
➢ Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions
➢ Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and review ATM IP-Hub checks for proper processing.
➢ Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals and deposits accurately. Pay out cash making sure proper verification is completed and signatures are verified.
➢ Promote, explain, and cross-sell marketing promotions and credit union products services such as, certificate of deposit/rates, ATM/debit, reloadable and gift cards and online banking/mobile banking products.
➢ Maintain a thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and trends in the credit union industry, with attention to the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act and Robbery procedures.
➢ Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift; research and resolve any discrepancies by following procedures/policy.
➢ Set up New Consumer and Business Accounts and provide members with all necessary information for membership. Service existing accounts; identify and promote products and services that would best meet their financial needs.
➢ Process all types of consumer loans, e.g., personal, auto, overdraft, business and secured loans.
➢ Provide basic mortgage information to members and submit mortgage applications through the Greater Alliance web site.
➢ Process Stop Payments, wire transfers etc.
➢ Have the availability to:
• Assist other branches
• Assist with opening/closing of the branches.
• Assist with Home Equity closings
• Training buddy for new hires
➢ Respond to members’ requests, problems, and complaints, resolving issues, and/or directing them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance. May handle more complex questions and problems for other Member Service Representatives.
➢ Up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations
➢ Approve member exceptions and authorize service fee refunds to members when necessary.
➢ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
➢ Six months to two years of similar or related experience
➢ High school education or GED
