Job Summary

The Senior Project Director will lead the execution and delivery of a large-scale, multi-million-dollar capital project, representing the Owner and ensuring successful completion in alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring extensive experience with EPC projects, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to navigate complex project environments.

Job Description

• Provide overall leadership and governance for a large-scale engineering and construction project from initiation through completion
• Serve as the Owner’s representative and primary interface with the EPC contractor and major vendors
• Oversee project execution to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Lead strategic planning, decision-making, and issue resolution across all project phases
• Manage project risks, changes, and performance metrics
• Coordinate and align internal and external stakeholders to drive project success
• Work closely with EPC construction leadership to ensure effective collaboration and execution
• Deliver regular project status updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders
• Navigate organizational and political dynamics in a professional and effective manner

Skills Required

• 35+ years of progressive experience delivering large-scale engineering and construction projects
• Proven ability to deliver large-scale capital projects
• Extensive experience in EPC project execution and owner-side project leadership
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• High level of business and financial acumen
• Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, high-visibility environments
• Politically savvy with the ability to achieve results professionally
• Flexibility to work an alternating on-site/off-site schedule
• Previous experience as a Senior Project Director, Project Director, or equivalent senior leadership role
• Oil & Gas or heavy industrial project experience preferred
• Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-disciplinary project teams

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School degree or GED
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and extensive industry experience.

Additional Requirements

• One week on-site followed by one week remote, alternating, with the possibility of additional support during remote weeks based on project demands.
