Electromechanical Plant Maintenance Specialist

Where: Somerset, NJ

Type: Direct Hire

Pay & Benefits: $25–$28/hour plus full benefits

Hours: Mon, Wed–Sat, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (Tue and Sun off). Probationary schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (if possible).

What will you do?

• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Interpret and work from schematics; close work orders and record data accurately.
• Drive equipment efficiency improvements and support reliability initiatives.
• Train, support, and at times oversee staff on maintenance tasks and best practices.
• Manage parts and inventory; coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
• Maintain facility infrastructure and production assets to minimize downtime.
• Create maintenance plans and achieve departmental targets.
• Participate on committees to strengthen safety, quality, and maintenance programs.

What do you need?

• High school diploma (required); technical school (preferred).
• 2+ years in a manufacturing maintenance/mechanic role; food industry experience is a plus, not a must.
• Skill with plumbing, electrical wiring, welding, and drilling.
• Proven experience replacing motors, belts, bearings, pulleys, sprockets, chains, and cylinders.
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting, multitasking, communication, logic, and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
