Front Server

Sam's Table LLC
Montclair, NJ

About Us

We’re building something small and special: a tasting menu restaurant designed to feel like your best friend invited you over for dinner—only they happen to be an amazing cook.

It’s intimate on purpose. Every night feels like a dinner party: cozy, intentional, and full of little surprises. The food is thoughtful and delicious, but what really lingers is how it feels to be there.

To us, hospitality isn’t just about serving food—it’s about creating moments, sparking joy, and making people feel genuinely cared for. That’s why we obsess over the details—because the little things are never really little.

We’re gathering a team of kind, curious, and creative people who want to show up with heart and excellence, night after night.

The Role

As a Server at Sam’s Table, you are the experience. You’re the heartbeat of the dining room, the connector, the storyteller, and the memory-maker. You’ll guide guests through their evening with confidence, joy, and a generosity of spirit. You’ll collaborate with our kitchen, align with your team, and bring your full self to every service. Most of all, you’ll help us turn a simple night out into a moment someone remembers forever.

Your Mission

Lead with Generosity

● Greet every guest with warmth, curiosity, and authenticity — not because you have to, but because you want to.

● Anticipate needs before they’re spoken. Exceed expectations not with grand gestures, but with thoughtful details.

● Create connection. Learn names. Celebrate birthdays. Remember their favorite wine from last time — and pour it before they even ask.

Be a Teammate, Not Just a Coworker

● Show up. For your guests and for each other.

● Collaborate with the kitchen, leadership, and fellow team members to create seamless, gracious service.

● Participate in pre-meal meetings, contributing your insights and receiving updates so we’re aligned and ready to shine as one team.

Own the Details

● Know the story behind the food. Understand every dish, every ingredient, and what inspired it — so you can tell it with heart.

● Develop a deep knowledge of the wine and beverage program and be confident pairing and suggesting drinks.

● Keep menus accurate and updated, and ensure the dining room is polished and prepped to welcome guests like it’s opening night — every night.

Grow On Purpose

● Join in on ongoing trainings, tastings, and workshops — not just to learn, but to grow.

● Ask questions. Seek feedback. Be hungry to get better every day.

● Bring curiosity to your role, and explore broader interests — whether that’s wine, coffee, storytelling, leadership, or guest experience.

Education & Development

At Sam’s Table, we’re committed to your growth — because the better you are, the better we all are. Whether it’s a formal wine training, a deep dive into hospitality philosophy, or simply learning from one another, education is part of our culture.

We encourage team members to pursue personal development inside and outside the restaurant — and we support that with mentorship, exposure to guest experiences, and the opportunity to take on leadership moments even without a title.

What You Bring

● A passion for hospitality as a meaningful act of service.

● Emotional intelligence, empathy, and a drive to connect with others.

● Curiosity about food, wine, coffee, and what makes great service unforgettable.

● A collaborative spirit and a desire to be part of something bigger than yourself.

● Previous restaurant experience is welcome, but attitude and presence matter most.

Why Sam’s Table?

We’re building more than a restaurant — we’re building a team that believes in the power of hospitality to transform a night out into a cherished memory. This is a place where creativity, kindness, and a strong work ethic go hand in hand. Where “going the extra mile” is just what we do. And where every team member is seen, heard, and celebrated for what they bring to the table.

If you want to do work that matters, if you’re obsessed with the little things that create big moments, if you’re looking for a restaurant that feels like home — we’d love to meet you.

What We Offer

● Competitive hourly wage and tips

● A warm, collaborative, and growth-oriented culture

● In-depth training and mentorship

● Family meal provided each shift

● Opportunities for advancement and creative input

● A front-row seat to meaningful, joy-filled hospitality
