Junior Estimator

We are currently seeking a Junior Estimator who will be responsible for performing cost calculations under the supervision of the Director of Preconstruction and Estimating. The Estimator will determine the total cost of a project, the required budget for a new scope of work buyout, or changes to existing contracted work.

Our client delivers exceptional Construction Management and General Contracting services for a portfolio of extraordinary residential properties.

Responsibilities:

• Review drawings and perform quantity takeoffs.
• Manage bid documents and drawings.
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintain the subcontractor directory and reference databases.
• Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to the design team.
• Communicate with the subcontractors, design team, and internal staff through meetings, formal correspondence, and phone calls.
• Support and assist other staff with tasks such as change order pricing, subcontractor selection, and other special projects.

Skills:

• Proven ability to plan, manage, and deliver tasks within the deadline.
• Proficient in reading construction drawings (blueprints).
• Experienced with Microsoft Excel and knowledge of using formulas.
• Proficiency with takeoff software such as On Screen Takeoff, Planswift, or Bluebeam.
• Strong knowledge of the construction process, including trade scopes and sequence of work.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other related degree
• Prefer 2 to 3 years experience
• Experience in General Construction is required.
