Medical Collector – Accounts Receivable Department

Location:
East Hanover, NJ (In-Office)

Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and resourceful Medical Collector with a minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and collections. The ideal candidate is dependable, has strong communication skills, and brings an assertive, results-driven approach to collecting outstanding balances.

Responsibilities:

• Research and resolve unpaid claims using monthly aging reports and multiple systems and payer portals.

• Manage assigned accounts and oversee the full collection cycle to reduce aging balances.

• Complete denial management, including appeals, reprocessing, and documentation gathering.

• Contact patients, guarantors, and attorneys regarding balances; educate them on benefits and payment responsibilities.

• Log follow-ups, reminders, and updates accurately and in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper payment posting and adjustments.

• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in A/R analysis, medical collections, denial management, and EOB review.

• Knowledge of billing and collection procedures in a high-volume environment.

• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

• Proactive, assertive, and motivated to drive collections performance.

• Experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding and familiarity with medical terminology.

• Proficiency with relevant software systems is a plus (WebPT, CMD, QuickBooks).
