About the Company
We are a growing, private-equity-backed healthcare engagement company with a dynamic, entrepreneurial culture and significant opportunities for continued growth. As we expand, we are looking for talented finance and accounting professionals who want to grow with the organization and play an increasingly important role in building a world-class finance function.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional who wants more than a traditional accounting role.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting and analytical skills, a high level of intellectual curiosity, a desire to take on increasing responsibility, and a genuine interest in using artificial intelligence to transform accounting and finance processes.
This person will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of accounting and financial activities while helping identify and implement new technologies, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. We are particularly interested in someone with significant long-term potential who could grow into a management or broader finance leadership role as the company continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee key month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and analysis.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
- Research and resolve accounting issues and unusual transactions.
- Assist with revenue, expense, prepaid, fixed asset, and other balance sheet accounting.
- Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances and discrepancies.
- Support the annual audit and tax processes.
- Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and other ad hoc financial analyses.
- Partner with operational and business teams to understand financial results and improve processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Explore and implement practical applications of AI in accounting and finance , including workflow automation, data analysis, reconciliation, reporting, research, and process documentation.
- Evaluate new AI tools and technologies and help determine where they can safely and effectively improve the finance organization.
- Help develop standardized processes, controls, and documentation as the company grows.
- Participate in special projects, acquisitions, system implementations, and other strategic initiatives as needed.
AI & Innovation Expectations
AI is an important part of the future of our finance organization. We are looking for someone who is excited—not intimidated—by the opportunity to rethink how accounting work gets done.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a strong interest in AI, automation, and emerging technology.
- Be willing to experiment with new tools and approaches.
- Look for opportunities to eliminate manual, repetitive work.
- Think critically about how AI can improve accuracy, speed, and decision-making.
- Develop the ability to use AI tools effectively while maintaining appropriate accounting judgment, confidentiality, and internal controls.
- Help establish best practices for responsible use of AI within the accounting function.
You do not need to be an AI expert. We are looking for someone who is curious, analytical, willing to learn, and excited about the possibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience .
- Strong understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems; Workday experience is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in AI, automation, and technology.
CPA or progress toward a CPA is a plus, but not required.
What We're Looking For
The most important qualification is potential .
We want someone who:
- Wants to build a career rather than simply find a job.
- Is intellectually curious and asks "why?" rather than simply following existing processes.
- Takes ownership and looks for ways to make things better.
- Can work independently but also enjoys collaborating with others.
- Is comfortable in a growing, changing environment.
- Has the ambition to take on increasing responsibility.
- Is interested in understanding the business—not just the accounting.
- Sees technology and AI as opportunities to make finance better.
- Has the potential to become a future Accounting Manager, Controller, or broader finance leader.
Why Join Us?
This position offers an opportunity to join a growing healthcare company at an exciting point in its development. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting, finance, operational, and strategic activities while working directly with an experienced finance team.
For the right individual, this can be a career-building position with substantial opportunities for advancement as the company grows.
If you are a strong accountant who wants to become a better accountant, a better business partner, and a technology-enabled finance professional, we would like to hear from you.
