Job Title: Accounts Payable & Compliance Manager - Construction

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable & Subcontractor Compliance Manager to oversee AP operations and compliance across construction projects. This role manages vendor payments, subcontractor documentation, and ensures all financial and compliance requirements are met before payment is released. The manager will work closely with project management, purchasing, and accounting teams to keep projects organized, compliant, and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
Manage full AP process: invoice intake, coding, approvals, and payments
Ensure invoices are accurate and aligned with contracts and cost codes
Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and setup documents
Communicate with vendors regarding discrepancies
Billing & Payment Applications
Prepare and track payment applications for public and private projects
Ensure complete backup including lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and certified payroll
Support billing and payment tracking
Subcontractor Compliance
Track certificates of insurance, lien waivers, contracts, and required documentation
Ensure compliance before releasing payments
Maintain organized logs and monitor expiration dates
Public Works Compliance
Track and review certified payroll
Support prevailing wage and agency requirements
Coordination & Documentation
Work with project management and purchasing to align contracts, purchase orders, and invoices
Maintain organized, audit-ready digital records
Help improve AP and compliance processes
Qualifications:
5+ years in construction accounts payable or accounting
Experience with public works and certified payroll preferred
Familiarity with construction management systems (Spectrum, ProjectSight, or similar)
Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
