Get to Know Your Team:

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

• The Patient Access Rep processes patient information required for admittance, dismissal, and claims management/insurance billing.
• Reviews all upcoming patient appointments for insurance eligibility, referrals, and other issues that may impact reimbursement.
• Listens, answers, and devotes full attention to patients, medical professionals, and supervisor questions.
• Acts as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patients’ family members in a compassionate and kind manner.
• Enters, maintains, and reports all patient information into the EMR system.
• Answers inbound calls to the department.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience in a hospital or physician practice.
• Understanding and use of Electronic Health Record (EMR) or other billing systems.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree.
• Medical Office Administration Certification.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
