The Service and Repair Technician plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing packaging and industrial equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency. Working within a small team in a high-demand environment, the technician will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and execute repairs using pneumatic, battery-powered, and manual tools. This position offers growth opportunities through technical specialization and involvement in cross-departmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on battery hand tools, pneumatic tools, and industrial equipment
• Diagnose mechanical problems using manual testing instruments and industry-standard diagnostic tools
• Disassemble, clean, repair, and service defective parts and machinery
• Write estimates for parts required and collaborate with Customer Service for approvals
• Test repaired tools to ensure compliance with factory specifications
• Rebuild core machine parts for field replacements
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment following safety protocols
• Support warehouse activities including receiving, shipping, and inventory management
• Conduct training sessions for repair technicians from customer teams
• Communicate effectively to assess problems, recommend actions, and resolve issues quickly
• Travel as needed for routine maintenance and emergency repairs (less than 10%)
• Update and program software on machines when required

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in equipment repair
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic components, industrial electrical, and motor control systems
• Knowledge of machine tool processes and machine repair
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods
• Availability to work full-time Monday through Friday
• Proficient in English with strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework a plus
• Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting electronic and mechanical systems
• Demonstrated teamwork and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
