What You’ll Do

As a Cashier at Tous Les Jours, you’ll play a vital role in creating a positive experience for our customers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.
- Handle food preparation tasks and willing to do simple cake decoration when needed.
- Ensure all equipment and stations are regularly cleaned, well-maintained, and in good working condition.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting with customers, taking orders, and answering any questions or concerns.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, pastries, and other supplies.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance the customer experience.

- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy periods.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and order processing.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills with a friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues.

Working Hours & Schedule

Availability: 4-5 days per week.
Weekly Volume: Approximately 30 hours per week (initial phase).
Weekend/Holiday Commitment: * Must be available to work on Public Holidays.
Must work at least one day every weekend (Saturday or Sunday).

Training & Probation period

Probation: 2 days of introductory training with no pay (3-4 hours per day).
On-the-Job Training: A 1-week intensive training period alongside a supervisor. (This may extend to 10 days if additional training is required)
Transition: Candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage the shop independently.

Compensation Structure

Training Rate: $7.96 per hour (50% of minimum wage) during the on-the-job training period.
Standard Rate: $15.92 per hour (Minimum Wage) once the candidate is qualified to manage the shift alone.
