Essential Duties:

  • Ensure new consumers have an initial physical examination on admission and annually.
  • Assess consumer medical needs and arrange for appropriate medical treatment and follow up in conjunction with other team members.

  • Participate in the agency-wide infection control committee.
  • Work closely with residential management on issues related to consumer's medication and medical needs and appointments.
  • Conduct monthly medication audits.

  • Participate in continuing education activities to maintain knowledge and skills required for professional competency in order to provide the best quality of care.
  • Perform in agency committees and task forces as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Regular access to a licensed, registered vehicle. You will use our company vehicle for any consumer transport that is needed, but the consumers in this division are living independent of the agency in the community and that is where you will visit them.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Proficiency in American Sign Language or Braille may satisfy this requirement.
  • Must have the ability to use various types of electronic, computer and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, the office, or related units.
