Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant with Front Desk experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional service and support in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and patient care processes. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within our facility. Must Speak Spanish and English.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Manage patient intake processes, including collecting necessary information and verifying insurance details.
- Schedule appointments for various departments, including dermatology, urgent care, and outpatient services.
- Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with basic life support procedures as needed and coordinate with medical staff for patient care.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and medical histories.
- Provide administrative support by handling phone inquiries, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth patient flow within the clinic or hospital setting.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Ensure the front desk area is organized and welcoming for patients and visitors.
Qualifications
- Must Speak Spanish and English.
- Previous experience in a medical administrative support role is preferred; familiarity with hospital medicine is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration is essential.
- Experience in various healthcare settings such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, or outpatient clinics is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a Level I or Level II trauma center environment is an advantage.
- Strong skills in patient service with a focus on delivering compassionate care to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics (PICU).
- Proficiency in using EHR systems for managing patient information efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
