MRI Technologist - NJAPS #1
Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: NJ – Across NJ Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (No weekends, holidays, or on-call)
Weekly Hours: 40 hours (5 x 8-hour shifts) Job Summary: Seeking experienced and licensed MRI Technologists to perform high-quality MRI procedures under the supervision of a physician. The role involves working closely with radiologists, patients, and other staff to ensure accurate imaging, patient comfort, and operational efficiency. Must be proficient in Cardiac and Breast MRI protocols.
Essential Job Functions: Perform MRI procedures in compliance with department standards and protocols.
Accurately interpret and execute physician orders for imaging.
Schedule, prepare, and conduct imaging exams with efficiency and attention to patient care.
Process images promptly (within 30 minutes of exam completion).
Maintain accurate records including patient logs and equipment downtime.
Collaborate with radiologists to optimize imaging protocols and quality.
Prepare and administer contrast media with a high degree of accuracy.
Ensure safety standards and hygiene protocols are upheld at all times.
Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff to support patient satisfaction.
Monitor inventory and report supply needs to supervisor.
Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, reporting to appropriate personnel.
Train and assist with onboarding or coverage for MRI staff when needed.
Participate in cross-training, team meetings, and improvement initiatives.
Transport patients safely and effectively as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
Support duties of any absent MRI team members as assigned.
Follow departmental policies for emergency and STAT imaging requests.
Ensure accuracy in billing and charge documentation for all exams performed.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Licensure/Certification: Valid NJ State MRI License. ARRT (MRI) certification.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed MRI Technologist required. Experience with Cardiac and Breast MRI required. 5+ years preferred, 8 years ideal.
Skills: Strong communication and patient interaction abilities. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical setting.

Float Requirement: May float to similar units as needed.
Workplace Competency: Must adhere to all organizational standards and code of conduct. This is a full-time, weekday-only position with no weekend, holiday, or on-call obligations.
