ATTORNEY POSITION - FULL TIME INTAKE ATTORNEY
Job Description
Fully Remote Intake Attorney Position (Part or Full Time) for Plaintiff’s Employment and Civil Rights Law Firm
We seek an attorney for a fully remote position conducting, analyzing and memorializing intake meetings with prospective clients. These meetings will be scheduled for you to be conducted via Zoom, and you will interview the prospective client to obtain comprehensive background information, facts and any documents we need to assess the potential claims. After each meeting you will dictate a memo containing the information you obtained and identify any potential claims and relevant deadlines to be sent to the firm.
Experience with employment or civil rights litigation under New Jersey, Pennsylvania and/or federal law is preferred, but we will provide any training and guidance needed to identify relevant facts and deadlines under applicable law. No active law license is required.
We anticipate 45 hours per week. Some flexibility is available in terms of when those hours are served.
Ideal candidates would have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience related to civil litigation, including, but not limited to: client communication, motion work, discovery work, deposition work, client intake work, trial preparation, etc. The experience may be either for the plaintiff or defense and may be in any area of civil litigation, including, but not limited to: employment, civil rights, personal injury, commercial litigation, consumer litigation, etc.
The minimal requirements for consideration are as follows:
- JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Empathy and sensitivity towards our prospective client population, which includes diverse and often marginalized communities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Zoom and Outlook
- Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills (fidelity to scheduling and deadlines, ability to prioritize and manage tasks, ability to work without close supervision)
- Excellent writing skills needed to convey facts organized logically into a memo, apply facts to specific laws/legal claims and calculate relevant deadlines, and assess and summarize impressions of prospective clients (writing sample will be requested)
- References that will substantiate that you possess the above requirements
- Ability to assess and briefly summarize impressions from interviewing prospective clients
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. The employer does not sponsor work visas.
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS: Dependent upon experience. Starting salary range is $60,000 - $70,000 , depending upon relevant experience.
We offer 401k with match, Employer-Paid Life and Disability Insurance, Employer-Paid Health Insurance for the Employee, Dental and Vision, fully-compensated CLE and Professional Memberships in relevant organizations (if applicable), generous PTO policies and generous bonus policies.
