About the Role:
The Security role is critical in ensuring the safety and protection of people, property, and information within an organization or designated area. This position involves monitoring premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules, and responding promptly to any incidents or emergencies. The Security professional will conduct regular patrols, manage access control, and maintain detailed records of daily activities and irregularities. They will collaborate with law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary to uphold a secure environment. Ultimately, this role aims to create a safe and secure atmosphere that supports the organization's operations and the well-being of all stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid security guard license or certification as required by state regulations.
- Basic knowledge of security operations and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
- Strong observational skills and physical fitness to perform patrol duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, or emergency medical response.
- Familiarity with security technology such as CCTV systems and access control software.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
- Control access to facilities by verifying credentials and managing visitor logs.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, including providing first aid or contacting emergency services as needed.
- Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and maintenance issues accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with team members and external agencies to enhance security protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Skills:
The required skills such as vigilance, attention to detail, and physical stamina are essential for conducting effective patrols and monitoring security systems daily. Communication skills enable the Security professional to interact clearly with visitors, staff, and emergency responders, ensuring smooth incident management. Knowledge of emergency procedures and first aid allows for immediate and appropriate responses to health or safety incidents. Preferred skills like proficiency with surveillance technology enhance the ability to detect and prevent security breaches proactively. Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills help de-escalate potentially volatile situations, maintaining a safe environment for all.
