Sous Chef

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts, with experience in restaurant management and food production. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menu items that align with seasonal offerings and customer preferences.
• Maintain inventory levels of food supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
• Monitor food quality and consistency throughout service, making adjustments as needed to meet standards.
• Assist in menu planning and development, considering dietary restrictions and preferences of guests.
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss menu changes, special events, and operational improvements.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management principles.
• Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment with a focus on high-quality food service management.
• Familiarity with dietary department operations is a plus.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
• Strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration among kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
• Bilingual is preferred.
