We are looking for a detail-oriented A/R, Cash Application Specialist to support financial operations for an organization in Branchburg, New Jersey . This is a one month contract position focuses on accurately applying incoming payments, maintaining accounts receivable records, and helping ensure timely reconciliation of customer accounts. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable handling high-volume cash posting activities with precision. This role is fully onsite

Temporary Cash Application Specialist Responsibilities:

• Apply customer payments accurately and efficiently to the appropriate accounts and invoices.

• Post cash receipts in a timely manner while maintaining complete and reliable transaction records.

• Review remittance details and resolve discrepancies to ensure proper allocation of funds.

• Reconcile daily payment activity against accounts receivable balances and supporting documentation.

• Investigate unapplied or misapplied payments and work with internal teams to correct account issues.

• Monitor cash application workflows to support consistent processing and reporting accuracy.

• Maintain organized records of payment transactions for audit readiness and financial review.

• Assist with accounts receivable activities related to payment posting, cash tracking, and account follow-up.

Cash Application Specialist Responsibilities:

• Hands-on experience with cash application processing in a high-volume environment.

• Working knowledge of accounts receivable principles and payment posting practices.

• Ability to reconcile transactions and identify discrepancies with strong attention to detail.

• Experience handling cash receipts, remittance information, and payment allocation tasks.

• Proficiency in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize daily activities.

• Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders on account questions.
