Environmental Compatibility Engineer

We are currently seeking a part-time Environmental Compatibility Engineer/Scientist to work remotely, with the potential to transition into a full-time role. This position offers flexible hours (approximately 20 per week) and competitive pay ranging from $50 to $70 per hour, depending on experience. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
 Position Responsibilities: 
- Assess and ensure that engineering projects and products comply with environmental regulations and standards.
 - Conduct environmental impact assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental footprints.
 - Collaborate with design and development teams to integrate eco-friendly solutions throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning to final execution.
 - Monitor and analyze environmental data, prepare detailed reports and documentation to support regulatory submissions and stakeholder communications
 - Stay abreast of environmental laws and emerging trends, driving continuous improvement and innovation in environmental compatibility practices within the organization
 
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Requires a minimum of three (3) years of environmental compatibility engineering experience.
 - BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies, or Environmental Law.
 - Knowledge of DoD Environmental Standards, Instructions, and Guidelines.
 - Experience implementing processes and products to meet Federal, State, and Local Environmental regulations.
 - Background with Temperature, Humidity, Vibration, Corrosion, and Chemical exposure testing.
 - Experience developing related technical instructions and reports.
 - Demonstrate ability to think independently and adapt to changing requirements.
 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 - Active Secret level security clearance.
 
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Knowledge of National and International Environmental Regulations.
 - Experience working with Naval Shipboard and/or Aviation environments.
 - Materials Engineering background would be helpful.
