Could you be the full-time PI Technician in Kearny we’re looking for?

Your future role

Salary Range: $40.00 - $43.00 per hour

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical maintenance and troubleshooting expertise in a dynamic rail environment. You’ll work alongside passionate, collaborative, and dedicated teammates supporting the reliability and performance of modern passenger rail vehicles.

You’ll play a key role in delivering field modifications that help improve fleet safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to implement technical upgrades, perform testing activities, and ensure accurate configuration records are maintained. You’ll specifically take care of electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and modification activities, while also supporting technical investigations and resolving field issues.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Safely and efficiently implementing vehicle modifications in line with technical instructions and project schedules
  • Performing inspections and tests to ensure high-quality workmanship and customer acceptance
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and modification records to support configuration management
  • Identifying, reporting, and helping resolve technical issues, deviations, and non-conformities
  • Contributing to a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the site

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Certification as a Technician in a mechanical, electrical, or electronics discipline
  • Experience or understanding of electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, or equipment maintenance
  • Knowledge of technical troubleshooting and fault investigation practices
  • Familiarity with basic test equipment and standard IT tools
  • Experience working in a field service, manufacturing, transportation, industrial, or railway environment
  • Understanding of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and safe work practices
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Confidence communicating with customers and cross-functional teams
  • An interest in railway systems, transportation technology, or industrial equipment

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey. The rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
  • Work on passenger rail vehicles that help connect communities across the region
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supportive colleagues
  • Contribute to innovative transportation projects that shape sustainable mobility
  • Gain hands-on experience with advanced rail technologies and maintenance practices
  • Benefit from our investment in your development through training and learning opportunities
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
  • Progress toward senior technician, specialist, supervisor, or field service leadership opportunities
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
