As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Tech Controls team, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your responsibilities include implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on security concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
  • Good hands on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in Python and backend frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI).
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Good understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
  • Experience in SQL query optimization, indexing, transactions, and concurrency control.
  • Good hands on experience with AWS Cloud services (compute, storage, database, networking).
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and API versioning best practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes (EKS/ECS).

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures using AWS SQS, SNS, or Kafka.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with caching technologies (Redis, Memcached) for high-performance applications.
  • Exposure to observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
  • Experience working with graph databases such as Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, or similar platforms.
