We are seeking a Lab Aide-- Microbiology to join our team! You will be responsible for performing medical tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
• Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference
• Monitor inventory samples and supplies
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Work under the supervision of a medical technologist

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a clinical technician or in other related fields
• Familiarity with common medical terminology
• Experience in a laboratory setting
• Strong organizational skills

Clinical laboratory experience, preferred.

· Skills: Promotes positive co-worker relationships, teamwork and cooperation, both within the department and across departmental lines. Works collaboratively and is respectful of others.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

· Strong time-management and organizational skills are required.

Physical Requirements:

· Position requires extensive standing, occasional sitting and routine walking.

• Ability to push/pull up to 35lbs and lift objects of up to 25lbs is occasionally required.
• Some laboratory tests performed are dependent on color determination. Ability to differentiate colors is required to perform these tests.
• Category I risk exposure as defined by OSHA.
