Senior Project Manager - GIS
We are seeking a Sr. Project Manager who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in running large information technology projects in various customer businesses areas at large Utility client headquartered in New Jersey. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a GIS upgrade initiative. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering project activities in alignment with clients' PMO standards. Location: Client is located in New Jersey with office in South Plainfield. Candidate must be local and able to go into the office 3 days per week. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders which includes IT (OT, Testing, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, etc), Line of Business (Electric Operations, Asset Management, Projects & Constructions), and external partners Manage the end-to-end delivery of project scope ensuring scope, schedule, cost, documentation and quality objectives are met. Coordinate and govern activities performed by the system integrator, including task planning, deliverable reviews, issue resolution, and change control. Ensure project execution follows clients EPMO methodologies standards, templates, and reporting requirements. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, RAID logs, status reports, and executive communications. Facilitate working sessions, design reviews, and decision forums related to GIS data modeling, workflows, and integration impacts. Partner with SMEs to validate modeling approaches, data standards, and implementation readiness. Identify project risks and dependencies related to data quality, system integration, resource availability, and cutover activities. Manage project communications and ensure alignment across technical and business stakeholders. Manage project budget, maintain financial plan, track actuals vs. plan, provide monthly forecasts, report monthly accruals Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management, Business Administration or another related field required with 10+ years of project management experience Basic understanding of OT systems (GIS, ADMS, SCADA, OMS) Strong understanding of project management fundamentals (scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, contracts) Experience leading diverse teams of technical disciplines and support Experience supporting system upgrades, migrations, or platform modernization efforts Strong communication skills (written and verbal) across a diverse stakeholder group Ability to perform stakeholder management Risk and issue management Technical project coordination Vendor management skills Quality assurance and governance Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast paced and complex environment Strong skills using Microsoft product tools and PPM tools Excellent customer-facing skills Excellent decision-making and organizational skills are required Excellent written and verbal skills Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities PMP certification required Must be local to NJ and ability to come to the office - main reporting location to be South Plainfield, NJ Preferred Experience: Utility background (electric, gas or combined)
