ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Newark, NY 14513 – Explore the Finger Lakes region, renowned for its outdoor recreation and local charm
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract (locum tenens)
• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 8/25/2025 – End: 11/24/2025)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1980 - $2030
• Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)
• Orientation: 12 hours plus pre-start modules

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse license (RN license in hand required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Proficiency with Epic charting system (Epic EMR experience required)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must reside more than 75 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Charge nurse and community hospital experience preferred
• Ability to float to other units as needed

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a 9-bed ICU
• Maintain safe patient ratios (2:1) and ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Perform advanced ICU nursing skills: arterial and central line management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, blood product and emergency medication administration
• Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and manage IV insulin protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy
• Adhere to infection prevention standards and isolation protocols
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
• Complete orientation and all required pre-start modules
