Dental Hygienist

Full job description
We are looking for a full time or part time Dental Hygienist for our client which is a PRIVATE multi specialty office with a GREAT reputation for high quality care. Dental Hygienist duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth, advising patients on oral health and preventative care and iTero scans. You'll help dentists decide treatments for teeth or gum diseases and handle dental emergencies. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages and orientation. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. If you have a steady hand and great chairside manner, we'd love to meet you!

We're moving to a brand new office in January! Full time hours can be arranged in any way that suits your schedule. We can make it happen.

Responsibilities in addition to cleaning

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Educate patients of all ages on proper oral care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
iTero wellness scans and X-Rays
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Requirements

Currently employed as a Dental Hygienist
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Diploma in Dental Hygiene
Valid license to practice dental hygiene
Job Type: Full-time or Part Time

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Flexible Schedule: Between 16 - 40 hrs per week depending on preference
Office is open Mondays - Saturdays until 1 pm, so lots of flexibility.
