About This Role

The Wyckoff Reformed Church Nursery School is hiring for September!

We are looking for a part time Teacher Assistant to support the teacher and children in our 2-3 year old classroom. This assistant would also help with the afternoon enrichment programs.

• Implement directives given by the classroom teacher in supervising all aspects of the day including classroom setup, curriculum, bathroom, playground, music, etc.
• Implement and reinforce classroom management and environment established by the classroom teacher.
• Help keep toys, supplies and room in good and orderly condition.
• Work with children individually and in groups: reading books, assisting with projects and activities.
• Under supervision of the teacher, prepare materials for planned lessons and participate in or guide activities promoting the social, nutritional, physical, emotional and academic development of the children.
• Model positive social development in children.
• Show respect for all individuals.
• Model appropriate behavior.
• Use developmentally appropriate practices.
• Maintain a professional attitude in demeanor, dress and confidentiality of students and staff.

• 10 month position (Sept - June)
• 4 Week summer camp option in July and early August
• M-F 8:30am - 11:45am. Start time may vary.
• Afternoon hours available 11:45 - 3pm (2pm on Fridays).
• Complete paid training and staff development over the summer at your own time and pace.
• CPR Certification (not necessary to apply but must be complete before starting)

• Educational background or other childcare experience
