Per Diem Days

UMC is currently seeking a Respiratory Therapist for our Bristol Glen Senior Care Community located in Newton, NJ. Bristol Glen, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), is thoughtfully designed to provide person directed care in a home-like environment to ensure exceptional care and quality of life for our residents.
Requirements for a Respiratory Therapist:
- Associates degree In Respiratory Therapy
- 2 years' experience in long-term care, sub-acute care or hospital experience
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Therapy Technician (CRTT} with National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentials and a valid registered license in New Jersey
Responsibilities for a Respiratory Therapist:
- Develops respiratory therapy modules through use of equipment that provides oxygen therapy, aerosol and humidity therapy, Chest Physical Therapy (CPT}, artificial airway care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)/Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) and apnea monitoring.
- Provide education and support on all equipment to patient, their families and community staff.
- Utilize pulmonary rehab techniques to promote pulmonary independence and improve Activities of Daily Living (AOL's).
- Observe and record client's progress and response for therapy modalities.
- Complete documentation with SOAP format, including screening, assessments, plan of care and outcome measurements.
- Communicate assessments and observations to nursing staff, physicians, rehab manager and inter-disciplinary team of community. Provide intervention of respiratory care per physician order.
- Complete all required clinical and billing documentation as indicated and submit in a timely manner.
- Complies with professional, ethical and legal standards.
