Network Board Certified Behavior Analyst SY26-27
Great Oaks Legacy Charter School is seeking a Network Board Certified Behavior Analyst for the 2026-2027 school year
The Network Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for ensuring effective ABA and behavioral support services for students as well as providing targeted ongoing professional development for campus based Social Workers and staff with a focus on the Autism and Emotional Regulation Impairments. The Network BCBA uses data to effectuate positive outcomes and is a resource for families, Network and campus based leadership teams. This is a twelve month position with evaluations and ESY support between June and August.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Behavior Assessment and Intervention
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA) and/or brief Functional Analysis (FA).
- Conduct norm or criterion referenced assessments such as ABLS/VBMAPP.
- Discuss results of the FBA and the proposed BIP with the school-based staff.
- Use the result of the FBA to create a function-based behavior intervention plan (BIP).
- Monitor compliance of Behavior Intervention Plans with School Based Social Workers.
- Utilize appropriate data collection tools to measure, graph, monitor target and replacement behaviors.
- Analyze behavior data on a weekly basis to identify trends and recommend changes as needed and develop training for staff.
ABA and ERI Programming
- Support programming for students with Autism and Emotional Regulation Impairments
- Professional development for Crisis Management (CPI/HWC)
- Provide support and development to school based Autism and ERI staff.
- Professional Development, modeling and coaching for staff supporting students with ERI and Autism
- Contribute to, with other Child Study Team members, teachers, and parents, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each identified student, monitor the Plan's implementation, and participate in the annual review.
Talent Management
- Serve as a resource to the Child Study Team, Directors/Principals, Instructional leaders and teachers for effective implementation of student supports.
- Coaching and supervision of ERI and Autism staff in collaboration with Associate Directors of Student Services (ADSS)
- Meet with the Network Special Education Director or Network BCBA weekly.
- Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, school personnel, and other agencies associated with the school.
- Supervise paraprofessionals assigned to ABA program support
- Supervision of BCBA candidates.
Criteria for Success:
- Work collaboratively with other team members to increase behaviors that support student success in the classroom.
- Increase student achievement
- Increase percentage of students receiving services in general education classrooms.
- Increase staff level of knowledge and skills with positive behavior supports, replacement behaviors, resulting in increased student behavior success.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP & EVALUATION
This position will report to the Network Director of Student Support Services or Network BCBA and will receive informal feedback, often daily through observations and interactions, weekly check-ins, and formal evaluations two times per year.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must Haves
- Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
- Current BCBA certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analysis
- 2-3 years experience working with children, adolescents, and families using methodologies of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) across a variety of settings.
- Knowledge of functional analysis techniques, ability to conduct Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) Expertise in developing, writing, implementing and training staff around behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Strong knowledge of NJ special education regulations and compliance policies/procedures NJAC 6A:14
- Commitment to the GOLCS core values and practices.
- Urban school-based work experience, excellent verbal and written skills in communicating with diverse audiences.
- Experience analyzing student data and creating action plans that support student goals.
- Openness to feedback, and willingness to take responsibility for student success.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexibility under pressure.
- Successfully completes required criminal history proof of U.S citizenship or legal resident status.
Nice to Haves
Experience serving students from linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Experience in a high-performing district or charter environment
- Experience supervising staff.
- At least beginner knowledge of Sign Language (ASL, Signed English)
- Augmentative Alternative Communication Device Experience
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Great Oaks Legacy Charter School offers a competitive and equitable compensation package that increases based on years of relevant experience, with a minimum base salary of $84,460.00, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
