Per Diem Patient Transporter

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Patient Transporter at Overlook Medical Center. Required hours vary including every other weekend. Starting rate $20.22/hr.

Essential Function/Responsibilities:

1. Ascertains patient name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data, following written or verbal instructions.

2. Guides or escorts incoming patients from admitting office or reception desk to designated area.

3. Carries patient's luggage.

4. Assists patient in walking to prevent accidents by falling, or transports non-ambulatory patient, using wheelchair.

5. Transports patient, alone or with assistance, in bed, wheeled cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within facility during patient stay.

6. Delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items.

7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.

To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.

Ability to work well under time constraints.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat and stands for long periods of time, bends, lifts, pushes and pulls up to 50 lbs.

Must be 16 or older (prior to hire, must complete NJA300 Combined Certification Form/Working Papers).

If 16 or 17 years-old valid working papers required.

Relevant Experience:

CPR certification preferred.
