Position: School Bus Driver

Rate : Up to $30 per hour

Work Hours: Approximately 5 hours a day

We're looking for dedicated and reliable School Bus Drivers to join our team! As a School Bus Driver, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our students get to school safely and on time, so they can enjoy all the learning and extracurricular opportunities our district has to offer.

Job Purpose: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular programs.

What You'll Do:

• Safely transport students to and from school and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere on the bus.
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it's in safe operating condition.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Provide excellent customer service to all passengers.

Good to Have (Qualifications - Desired):

• High School Diploma
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with children.
• Ability to follow directions and adhere to rules and regulations.
• Ability to relate to school-age children from PreK-12.
• Ability to control a school bus in emergencies and remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work a flexible work day in the morning and afternoon (approximately 5 hours per day).
• Ability to pass the required physical examination to obtain a CDL.
• Ability to pass the required Criminal History Review and Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure.

What You'll Need (Qualifications - Required):

• Current CDL license with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Familiarity with New Jersey bus routes.
• 2-3 years of experience driving a school bus.

Working Conditions:

• Transportation Department
• School bus environment
• Available for morning, afternoon, and evening runs
• Typically 5 hours per day
