Assistant Supervisor (3rd Shift)
Preco is now hiring a Full-Time Assistant Supervisor (3rd Shift) for their Metals Department in Somerset, WI.
The Assistant Supervisor oversees all production personnel on their assigned shift within the Metals market, providing training, coaching, and motivation to ensure the team meets established quality, production, and efficiency goals. This role serves as the primary on‑shift point of contact for employees, offering guidance, answering questions, and directing daily activities. The Assistant Supervisor also works closely with the Department Supervisor to communicate status updates, address operational issues, and contribute ideas that enhance workflow, productivity, and overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure all personnel are aware of and follow Preco safety protocols.
· Follow the manufacturing schedule as defined by Scheduler. Contact Sr. Production Supervisor for adjustments to maintain efficiency.
· Coordinate work assignments with Scheduler and Sr. Production Supervisor.
· Identify training needs for personnel on shift and communicate needs to the Sr. Production Supervisor.
· Execute the CMS production schedule for optimum production efficiency and on time delivery.
· Strive to manufacture all products to meet specifications and stop production if specifications are not met.
· Engage with Sr. Production Supervisor to analyze productivity, workflow, methods and procedures, making recommendations to management as appropriate.
· Identify process and procedure problems that negatively affect quality and efficiency. Work with CMS team, Engineering, and Quality to resolve problems and continuously improve process.
· Responsible for checking and retrieving materials, tools, information and other items for members of the shift in order to keep machines running efficiently, and without quality defects.
· Develop/implement growth and development plans for personnel. This includes daily feedback and annual reviews.
· Responsible for meeting all SQF (Safe Quality Foods), quality and customer requirements for this position.
· Verify that orders are complete, documentation is complete and accurate, parts are packed and labeled, properly report time and quantity correctly and ready to be shipped (all paperwork is filled out complete and correctly)
· Assure production team is performing line clean out and work cell clean up prior to next job.
· Responsible for facility lock up and shutdown of unused laser systems.
· Responsible for employees that are in the building during an emergency (i.e. fire, tornado, etc.).
· Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role or team lead experience responsible for staff in an automated production equipment environment.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Associate Degree or course work in Management, Business, or Leadership.
· Working knowledge of quality management system (QMS), international organization for standardization (ISO), and SQF.
· Exposure to or completion of formal business courses beyond the high school level.
