JOB SUMMARY

Amerlux is looking for a Laser/Turret Operator responsible for setting up tooling and material as specified in the Router, set up machines and then execute the program. If there are any issues with the program they need to be communicated with the Supervisor and able to trouble shoot the issue until resolved. The Machine Operator will be responsible for producing quality part, measuring the part to the print, making any adjustments, and then running the complete work order.

Machine Operator should be able to train new employee in machines and able to inspect and check quality of the parts. This candidate should be familiar with performing preventive maintenance on machines and ability to rebuild multi tool stations on the machine and maintain the dyes. Candidates must be able to use and properly read a caliper and protractor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Confirm that production parts meet the engineering drawings, using drawings and measuring equipment as needed.
• Accurately inventory and report completed parts and work orders in Oracle.
• Maintaining and organizing tolling.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area.
• Observe and follow all safety requirements as specified by the Company

QUALIFICATIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITY

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 3 + years’ experience setting up and operating laser/turret machines. Amada’s, a plus
• Ability to set-up and operate laser/turret
• The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their applications
• Proficient in blueprint reading
• Experience using micrometers, calipers and other measuring tools
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods
• Flexible, reliable, self-starting team player with ability to work with little or no supervision.
