Skate Guard

The Red Bank Armory Ice Complex in Red Bank, NJ is looking for one skate guard to join our team. We are located on 76 Chestnut Street. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and hard-working. This is a part-time position.

The Skate Guard's primary focus is monitoring the ice during public skate sessions to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.

Responsibilities

• Able to skate under control and perform basic skating skills
• Assess the rink prior to the session to insure that all doors are closed around the rink, except those used during the session for entering/exiting.
• Open the door of the rink when session begins
• Monitor skaters and ensure that rules are followed and that proper ice safety procedures are being followed
• Alert shift manager of any unsafe or hazardous ice
• Be able to address issues and conflicts as they arise with poise, alerting shift manager to all incidents
• Assist any skater during accidents, falls or incidents, contacting the shift manager and staff of any help needed in addition to yourself
• Communicate clearly and responsibly to all customers and staff
• Help with other duties assigned relevant to the management of the ice
• Assist handing out and putting away rental skates

Qualifications

• Must have current or former skating experience
• Must have excellent communication skills
