Scientist - Translational Discovery (Skin Biology)
Title: Scientist I 6 Months (Potential to extend to 2 years) Clark, NJ Are you a bench-focused scientist ready to see your research move from the lab to the real world? We are seeking a Scientist I to join a high-energy Advanced Research team dedicated to Translational Discovery . In this role, you will be at the forefront of skin biology, conducting sophisticated in vitro and ex vivo experiments to unlock the next generation of dermatological innovations. Responsibilities
- Experimental Execution: Conduct complex laboratory experiments on 2D cell cultures, 3D reconstructed skin models, and ex vivo human skin biopsies to support scientific discovery programs.
- Tissue Specialization: Perform precise micro-dissections of human skin samples and maintain high-standard sterile techniques for keratinocyte and fibroblast culturing.
- Biological Analysis: Execute a variety of assays including multi-color flow cytometry (antibody panel design), multiplex ELISA, PCR, and immunohistochemistry (IHC).
- Data Integrity: Manage, analyze, and summarize high-quality datasets. You will be responsible for uploading data to internal databases and reporting findings to project leaders in a timely manner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with analytical and formulation teams to design experiments that bridge the gap between biological discovery and product development.
- Lab Operations: Maintain a seamless research environment by managing laboratory supplies, ordering, and authoring functional SOPs and Working Practices.

Required:
- Education: MS in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related life sciences field.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience (post-degree) specifically in a skin biology or related research setting.
- Cell Culture Expertise: Proven mastery of human keratinocyte and fibroblast culture and sterile technique.
- Assay Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with general and multiplex ELISA, immunofluorescence, IHC, and PCR methods.
- Imaging & Flow: Hands-on experience with microscopy imaging techniques and the ability to design antibody panels for multi-color flow cytometry.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and project management skills; must be a self-motivated collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience handling and processing human tissue samples.
- Deep understanding of skin and skin appendage morphologies.
- Knowledge of skin wound healing biology or next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies.
