About the Role:
We're looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team! This is a full-time, in-office position (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM). If you have a strong background in bookkeeping and enjoy working with numbers in a dynamic environment, this could be a great opportunity for you!

What You'll Do:
- Manage accounts payable (AP) in a computerized accounting system
- Create and process purchase orders
- Match vendor invoices with purchase orders
- Scan and input vendor invoices into the accounting software
- Run and monitor AP Aging Reports
- Ensure accurate and timely payments of invoices
- Close Accounts Payable periods and reconcile vendor statements
- Organize and archive vendor invoices
- Assist with preparing financial reports as needed
- Manage a busy email inbox and respond promptly to inquiries
- Provide backup support for accounts receivable (AR) and receive cross-training

What We're Looking For:
- 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related financial role
- Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or Bookkeeping
- Strong data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage MAS 90, and/or Sage 100 (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle a high-volume email inbox efficiently
- Must live within a short commute to Jersey City, NJ 07304
- Candidates will be required to complete assessments on accounting knowledge, Excel proficiency, and computer skills as part of the hiring process
