Essential Function - Compliance & Quality Standards

• Assists with the department’s CAPA processing, validation, process improvements and establishes the department direction for future projects.
• Assists with Customer Complaints by performing root causes analysis, and developing short-term & long-term plans to prevent recurring issues.
• Reviews and recommends new or enhanced procedures and/or processes to maximize efficiency and to continuously improve quality of products produced.
• Creates work instructions that satisfy Quality system requirements.
• Assists department Manager with ensuring that department complies with all Safety rules, procedures, dress code, as well as good housekeeping within the plant, in accordance with SOPs, Work Instructions, and GMPs.
• Works with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to ensure safety and environment compliance of department with federal, state and local government.

Essential Function - Special Projects

• Supports and trains Production employees on customer specifications and complaints.
• Conducts customer visits on behalf of Datwyler, representing its products and provides information regarding process.
• Communicates customer requests and explains details to responsible project team members and senior leadership.
• Assists with developing new products and technical projects to assure timely and effective response to evolutions in the market.
• Works on new product and product transfer project teams.
• Identifies, plans and directs projects and monitors status to ensure timeliness of completion (capital investment, process, quality, continuous improvement and safety, etc.)
• Optimize process parameters to increase productivity.

Essential Function - Technical Process Management

• Become Aluminum & Plastic department’s Process Expert & Advisor on Plastic Injection Molding, Aluminum Stamping/Punching & automated Assembly.
• Excel in insight into processes, automatic process control systems and industrial applications.
• Demonstrates high level understanding of operational process and procedures.
• Demonstrates ability to think strategically, leveraging insight to successfully effect change.
• Responsible for tracking and analyzing production & equipment trends to aid in development or improvement of internal process and procedures.
• Continuous refine and monitor process KPI’s and critical process parameters.
• Supports the Datwyler Production System (DPS) to drive improvement, eliminate Waste & effective cascading of information among different Tiers.

Your Profile

You are a professional with a four year technical degree and a minimum of three (3) years of Plastic Injection Molding or related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Three (3) or more years of experience in a packaging FDA regulated environment such as pharmaceutical cosmetics or food products desired. Three (3) or more years of board based experience in Injection mold design. Proficient understanding of drawing analysis, ie. Audo CAD/Solidworks or other. Knowledge of Lean Sigma principles.

Objects are handled regularly, tools and machinery controls are manipulated, and items positioned above the head and on the floor must be reached. Frequently the work requires squatting, stooping, bending, crouching and/or crawling. Work is done in both office space and in the plant where safety is a critical concern. There is exposure to elements including environmental heat and high heat from moving mechanical parts; small parts may be encountered on the floor and dust particles may float in the air. Personal protective equipment must be worn including safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and/or protection from high noise levels. Protective clothing such as a uniform, oversuit, hair net, beard cover, etc. must also be worn in designated areas. VISION: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
HEARING: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
