Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director for the Perioperative Support Services Department at the New Brunswick campus

The Assistant Director will serve as the day-to-day lead of the perioperative business office and have oversight over all financial and analytical operations for the service line.

This will include operational and capital budgeting, business plan development, strategic planning and forecasting, accountability for all analytical and departmental KPI.

Supervises and manages the OR Scheduling office which includes Adult Operating Room, Pediatric Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery Center and Endoscopy. They will also reviews schedules for accuracy and completeness across all procedural areas.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • General knowledge of hospital procedures, medical terminology and abbreviations
  • Prior medical office & hospital administration experience required

Preferred:

  • MBA highly preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Scheduling Requirements :

  • Days 40 hours per week
  • Full-Time

Essential Functions:

Patient Care Management Maintains clinical expertise as demonstrated by:

  • Maintains booking sheets and related information for Adult/Pediatric OR, ASP and Endoscopy.
  • Assists in gathering information for department statistics for Adult/Pediatric OR, ASP and Endoscopy,
  • Reporting directly to Assistant Vice President (AVP) and/or Vice President (VP) utilizes word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software to produce documents and reports,
  • Demonstrates the ability to create graphs and flow charts,
  • Maintains correspondence, contracts, proposals, minutes, reports and other documents for AVP/VP and direct reports as requested,
  • Confidential information is not released until or unless directed to by the AVP/VP,
  • Uses professional judgment to set priorities for assignments and special projects so that they are completed within the required timeframes
