Supply Chain Manager

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all inventory transactions, including purchasing, inventory levels and accuracy, and cycle counting of raw materials and finished goods. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager maintains relationships with key suppliers and negotiates pricing to ensure the company achieves the most favorable terms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understands, follows, and enforces all established safety, quality, company policies/procedures, and recognized practices.

• Enforces plant safety initiatives, ensuring participation and participating in the development of safety training programs, plant safety meetings, safety audits, and by encouraging employee involvement through safety suggestions and recognition programs.

• Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.

• Negotiate pricing with suppliers and minimum order quantities.

• Works with costing engineer and materials manager to ensure parts are costed properly and all material costs are accurate, including scrap percent and usage.

• Create, implement, and recognize cost saving initiatives to reduce operating expenses.

• Attend and participate in daily operations meetings.

• Develop and maintain a daily/weekly/monthly/yearly performance scorecard for inventory levels.

• Maintain compliance with ISO policies and procedures, overseeing Process 3 (Purchasing) and is the lead representation for Purchasing during ISO surveillance and recertification audits.

• Manages and oversees ISO requirements for material control and preservation.

• Promote an open-door policy and a strong team-building environment.

• Maintain high visibility on the production floor.

• Supports and participates in special projects as assigned.

• Review new purchase order suggestions daily.

• Create purchase orders and send them to suppliers for any/all raw materials needed for production and shipping.

• Manage purchase order confirmations from suppliers.

• Manage all communications with suppliers - late orders, expedited requests, missing packing slips, and certifications.

• Review purchase order change suggestions at least once a week.

• Manage safety stock, minimums, and multiples in the ERP system for raw materials.

• Update price tables in the ERP system.

• Source new products/suppliers.

• Handle requests from sales department for updated pricing of materials.

• Manage in-bound freight from suppliers.

• Calculate monthly customer usage for melamine and submit it to the supplier.

• Update supplier offsite inventory of our materials quarterly.

• Manage supplier rating scorecards quarterly.

• Manage and maintain demand worksheets.

• Manage and own the raw materials cycle counting process in the ERP system.

• Develop and implement action plans for material discrepancies.

• Obtain regulatory compliance statements from suppliers on a semi-annual basis.

• Other duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

Education, Skills, and Knowledge Required:

• A Bachelor’s Degree and/or related operations experience; or equivalent combination of education and related operations experience is highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an operation supply chain role in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership skills strongly preferred.

• Ability to develop and formalize written procedures for improvements that increase department efficiencies and reduce costs.

• Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.

• “Follow up/follow through” a must!

• Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

• Epicor experience is a plus.

• Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Schedule:

• 7am-4pm

• Monday thru Friday with off-shift communication as needed with management.
