Extruder Operator
Job Description:
- The Extruder Operator sets up and operates the extrusion machine according to procedures and customer requirements, ensuring efficient production and quality.
- Set up and operate extruder, adjusting and maintaining as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance and ensure equipment cleanliness.
- Collaborate with the production manager to improve processes.
- Follow safety procedures and good manufacturing practices.
- Inspect products for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Reel extruded products into rolls and operate forklift as needed.
- Ensure smooth shift transitions and maintain a clean work area.
- Identify and resolve equipment defects, and communicate with team members to address issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum one year of recent extrusion operator experience.
- Basic understanding of the extrusion process, including set-ups and change-overs.
- Experience adjusting machines for pressure, speed, and temperature.
- Strong communication skills (active listening and verbal).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices (preferred).
- Ability to read and understand product specs and measurements.
Pay: $20-$25 DOE
Hours: Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm temp-to-perm
